Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Inc. Announces Collaboration with Cleveland Clinic to Support Food Security Initiatives for Seniors

St. Lucie County, FL — The Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Inc. is proud to announce a collaboration with Cleveland Clinic to support the organization’s Meals on Wheels program serving seniors throughout St. Lucie County.

This collaboration will help reduce the number of seniors currently on the waitlist for nutritious meal services while also enhancing the overall well-being of older adults in the community. Through the Meals on Wheels program, seniors receive access to healthy meals, wellness checks, increased social interaction, and meaningful connections that help reduce feelings of isolation and improve quality of life.

The Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Inc. remains committed to addressing food insecurity among seniors and ensuring older adults have access to the nutrition and support services they need to remain healthy, independent, and connected to the community.

“We are grateful for Cleveland Clinic’s support of our mission and the seniors we serve throughout St. Lucie County,” said Lacinda Mouton, CEO of the Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Inc. “Collaborations (or Initiatives) like this allow us to reach more seniors in need and provide services that go far beyond a meal.”

Meals on Wheels provides home-delivered meals, wellness checks, and supportive services to seniors who may face challenges accessing nutritious food. The collaboration with Cleveland Clinic will also help expand awareness and strengthen community support for these essential services.

This contribution builds on Cleveland Clinic’s broader efforts to address food insecurity through philanthropy and care-based programs, including teaching kitchens, pediatric summer and weekend meal initiatives, food vouchers, grocery delivery, free produce from local farms and Nourish food pantries for eligible patients.
